Jakathalaya conducted it’s first Margazhi festival – Margazhi Nrityotsav 2024,to showcase the talents of young and upcoming bharatanatyam dancers on Jan 7th,Jan 10th – 12th 2024 at Sri Balaganapathy Hall, Santhome, Chennai.
Eminent artists in the field of bharatanatyam such as Kalaimamani Smt.Anitha Guha,Smt Shruthi Priya,Ms Kavya Muralidharan,Ms Reshma performed along with the winners of Jakatho utsav 2023(All India Bharatanatyam competition).This being jakathalaya’s first margazhi festival,we felicitated all the participating artists with awards.

Young and upcoming artists were awarded with the title ‘Yuva KalaVardhini’.
Eminent artists were awarded with the title ‘Jakatha Kalavardhini’
Senior artists were awarded with the title ‘Jakatha Kala Acharya’

Eminent personalities in the field of arts such as Padmasri Dr Nalli Kuppusamy Chetti,Kalaimamani Smt Shobana Ramesh and Dr S.Divyasena presided the event and presented the awards to the artist.

Aacharya Smt Anitha Guha’s bharathanjali team performed excerpts from the praise of seven hills,Ms Reshma’s performance were based of ‘The Mahakavi’.Ms Kavya Muralidharan performed items on Kashi Vishwanath dharshan and freedom fighters
